Terms of use
Rules for using BrightSteps-X.
These Terms govern access to BrightSteps-X. By creating an adult account or using the service, the parent, guardian, or administrator responsible for the account agrees to these Terms and the Privacy & Safety Notice.
1. Parent or guardian responsibility
Children may use BrightSteps-X only through an account and private child profile created or authorized by a responsible adult. The adult is responsible for deciding whether the service, learning content, neural voice, and optional Live Buddy are appropriate for each child.
2. Accounts and access codes
Provide accurate adult account information, protect passwords, child codes, and PINs, and notify us if access may have been compromised. Do not share an administrator registration code publicly or use another person’s account without permission.
3. Educational and AI limitations
BrightSteps-X is a supplemental learning service, not a school, licensed teacher, medical service, emergency service, or substitute for adult supervision. AI-generated voice or responses can occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. Adults should review unexpected output and report concerns through the support page.
4. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to bypass access controls, probe or disrupt the service, upload malicious material, scrape private content, misuse child profiles, reverse engineer protected systems where prohibited, or use BrightSteps-X in a way that harms a child or another person.
5. Custom stories and uploaded images
Parents and guardians are responsible for the themes, title ideas, optional favorite details, and child images they provide for private custom stories. When the optional AI story service is enabled, limited story-profile fields may be processed by the configured model. A child photo is sent for image generation only after the parent selects the separate per-story approval control. Generated stories and illustrations can contain mistakes or visual differences and should be reviewed by the adult.
Upload only images you are authorized to use. Do not upload documents, school IDs, addresses, medical information, revealing images, or images that invade another person’s privacy. BrightSteps-X may reject, omit, remove, or disable content that appears unsafe, fails validation, reaches a usage allowance, or cannot be generated reliably.
6. Content and intellectual property
The BrightSteps-X interface, original learning materials, software, and branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Some stories are adapted from identified public-domain sources; source records and licence notices are provided on the content sources page. Public-domain status can differ by jurisdiction.
7. Availability and changes
We may maintain, improve, replace, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device, or preservation of every feature forever. Reasonable efforts will be used to protect existing account and learning data during ordinary upgrades.
8. Suspension or termination
Access may be limited or suspended to protect children, users, security, service reliability, legal compliance, or other people’s rights. A parent or guardian may stop using the service and request account deletion through jalaljanjua88@gmail.com.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, BrightSteps-X is provided on an “as available” basis without guarantees that every result, response, or learning outcome will be error-free. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
10. Governing framework
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws applicable in Ontario, Canada, without limiting mandatory rights that apply where a user lives. Disputes should first be raised through the support contact so the parties can try to resolve them informally.
11. Updates and contact
Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and Terms version. Questions may be sent to jalaljanjua88@gmail.com.
